When we arrived at this latest outpost it seemed like the last place on earth, but somebody had had the crazy idea of building a row of luxury lodges on the rocks along the coast. The sun came out in the afternoon as I walked up to the cemetery, the local view point. On the way l was inspected by a group of not so young huskies, but they soon went off to play with a large chunk of polystyrene. They are not kept on tether like the adults. There was a beautiful view across thesea with ice bergs and the Disko Island which we had just left. I was finally using my large camera and telephoto lens, but there were still no whales to be seen. We had dinner in a restaurant which occupied one of the 2 original historic buildings. The holiday had become a sort of boat safari from one small settlement to another and we left again early in the morning for the next one.
