21<\/span>st<\/span>.January, <\/span>Osa<\/span> Peninsula<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

I left at 8.00 for the transfer to Corcovado and the El <\/span>Remanso<\/span> Lodge where I would be spending the most time. It<\/span> was an even longer transfer with the same driver <\/span>as I had before<\/span>and <\/span>he <\/span>even <\/span>had to drive back to San Jose the same day, <\/span>a total of <\/span>12 hours driving<\/span>!<\/span>I was glad I would myself be<\/span> flying back<\/span> to San Jose<\/span>.<\/span> Starting again on the high ridge road we soon descended to San Isidro and then left the trans-American highway to reach the Pacific Coast at Dominical. Many attractive flowering trees could be seen on route. Along the coastal road there were some signs of seaside holiday facilities but most of it was still undeveloped. Occasional glimpses of the Pacific Ocean could be seen between the trees. Eventually we crossed the landward end of the <\/span>Osa<\/span> Peninsula and reached the <\/span>Golfo<\/span> Dulce on the Southern side, finally arriving at our destination of Puerto Jimenez. However my journey was not yet over since <\/span>I changed to a jeep for another hours drive <\/span>to <\/span>the <\/span>El <\/span>Remanso<\/span>lodge<\/span>.<\/span>This was though already a safari tour as<\/span> we saw wildlife on the way including <\/span>the fabulous Scarlet Macaws, a large <\/span>Tropical Screech-Owl<\/span> and a Three-toed Sloth.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I accompanied an English couple during the jeep drive and we shared our experiences of the various Costa Rican nature parks.
