I was up again early at 5.00am to make the most of it and was not disappointed. The weather was still perfect and the channel really was most spectacular. The sun rose behind the black cliffs which contrasted strongly with the dazzelling snow and ice floes on the water. Crabeater Seals were spotted on some of the floes as were the occasional group of penguins in the water. On the other side of the channel in more open water we reached our furthest point South at 65\u00b0 11\u201d. The ship turned round and sailed back through the Lemaire Channel in the Northerly direction.
