\u00a015.03.14 Serra Cafema, flight and lodge<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

This lodge is situated at the most Northerly point of Namibia, right on the Angolan border. The Kunene river, which my luxurious suite directly overlooked, divides the two. There it was hotter and dryer than ever. There was phenomenal scenery on the flight: red mountains, black rocks and yellow sand. Nothing else for 1 1\/2 hours. The scale is enormous. There was a map on the wall in the dining area of the lodge, which I at first took to be a walking map at a scale of 1:25,000 with only one road with 2 villages on it. Closer inspection revealed the scale to be 1:250,000! The whole of Switzerland would have fitted on a sheet of that size! The young pilot was called Moritz (not a joke). He had been brought up in Germany but had visited relatives in Namibia in his childhood. I was the only passenger and we had dinner together. Later the couple from Jersey came into the restaurant and I ended the evening with them.
