In the evening had a sun-downer drive together to the top of a small hill overlooking the river and the sunset really did prove to be breathtaking. I hope I have really captured it with all my photographic equipment, with the light an colours changing from minute to minute. I was even offered a bottle of champagne which I had originally declined on arriving at the lodge after the long journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following morning there was no time for any activity since the drive alone to the airstrip takes an hour. Then I had 2 1\/2 hr. flying time with 2 intermediate stops before arriving in Ongava. The American family was with me as far as Desert Rhino camp, after which I was joined by a couple from Yorkshire. At one of the stops a small horned viper was spotted under the wheel of a small plane \u2013 not the one I was taking. ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder
